GreenPowe and other renewable energy purchases can be treated as zero emission sources of electricity under the NCOS for the purpose of calculating a carbon footprint for carbon neutrality. For example, if an organisation purchases 100 per cent GreenPower for all its electricity requirements, then its carbon footprint will include no emissions from electricity consumption. It would then need to purchase fewer offset credits to achieve carbon neutrality.
