Who is behind GreenPower?

State governments around Australia have teamed up to run the GreenPower accreditation program.

The people behind GreenPower represent several state government agencies and departments, plus a number of non-financial members.

GreenPower representatives include:

  • ACT Government - Environment Sustainable Development Directorate
  • NSW Trade & Investment
  • Department of Energy and Water Supply, Queensland
  • Department for Manufacturing, Innovation, Trade, Resources and Energy, South Australia
  • Sustainability Victoria
  • Public Utilities Office, Department of Finance, Western Australia
  • GreenPower observers include:

    • Department of Industry, Innovation, Climate Change, Science, Research and Tertiary Education, Commonwealth
    • Department of the Chief Minister, Northern Territory
    • Department of Infrastructure, Energy and Resources, Tasmania

The National GreenPower Accreditation Program sets the rules for GreenPower products and independently audits GreenPower retailers’ sales and purchases and generators’ operations to make sure they are meeting the accreditation criteria.
