Annual Audit Report 2023: GreenPower sales increased by 19% in 2023
The National GreenPower Accreditation Program Annual Compliance Audit for 1 January to 31 December 2023 is now available. This report includes customer numbers and sales (in MWh) from each GreenPower Renewable Electricity Provider and in each Australian state and territory.
Overall, GreenPower Renewable Electricity sales increased 19% in 2023 compared to 2022, the fifth year in a row that sales of GreenPower have increased. 1,824,608 MWh of GreenPower was sold to over 150,000 households and 40,000 businesses across Australia in 2023.
Business customers continue to drive this growth, with over 40,000 businesses choosing GreenPower Renewable Electricity to reduce their emissions and meet their renewable energy goals, up significantly from 30,830 in 2022.
GreenPower and its network of renewable electricity customers, providers and renewable generators facilitated more than 1.1 million tonnes of carbon emission reductions (CO2e)* in 2023, and almost 20 million tonnes CO2e from 2005-2023.
GreenPower Providers continued to show a high level of compliance with GreenPower’s requirements in 2023.
