How to become a GreenPower Provider
Find out what’s involved in becoming a GreenPower Provider, including the steps to become accredited.
Electricity retailers and other organisations with the required licences to trade LCGs can apply to join the National GreenPower Accreditation Program as a GreenPower Provider. GreenPower accredits individual products supplied by the GreenPower Provider. As a GreenPower Provider, you can choose to offer just one or several GreenPower products.
You can choose to offer products that are consumption or block based, or offer a certificate-only option that is independent of the electricity contract. Consumption-based products allow your customers to choose GreenPower for a percentage of their energy between. The minimum percentage for household customers is 10 per cent. Block-based products are sold in blocks of consumption, usually with upfront payment. Certificate-only products, also known as decoupled GreenPower, are separate renewable energy certificates unrelated to the electricity provider. .
Please contact us if you are interested in joining GreenPower and offering a renewable energy product to your customers.
Each accredited product can be offered in the specified states and territories and the accreditation is generally ongoing. You can apply to have additional GreenPower products accredited at a later time. GreenPower Providers are required to inform us about any changes to your accredited products, and any new marketing materials require approval from us before publication to ensure they meet our guidelines.
Every year, an independent auditor will do a technical audit of all your GreenPower accredited products and sales to make sure they comply with GreenPower's requirements.
